Blue Chip Technical Services announces BOC as the First IBM Power 770 Customer in Sri Lanka

December 20, 2013, Colombo - Blue Chip Technical Services (Pvt) Ltd., a total IT solutions provider announces that Bank of Ceylon (BOC) is the first organization in Sri Lanka to install IBM Power Systems Power 770 servers.

As the bank’s primary live and DR (Disaster Recovery) servers, the new Power 770 servers replace IBM iSeries e Servers running several business critical applications including BOC’s core banking application. To keep pace with the advancements of technology, and to be able to harness ever-growing volumes of data affecting the banking industry, the bank decided to upgrade its existing hardware platform to IBM Power Systems servers with POWER7+ technology. On completion of the project, BOC now owns the most powerful IBM Power Systems servers in Sri Lanka.
